Po Yan Woo Wine Factory, the producer of Ng Po Oil, was established in 1967.

Po Yan Woo, as early as the late 1960s , had already set up sales booths at the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo held by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong selling such as red chicken medicinal tonic wine, pain relieving aromatic oil, rheumatic oil and other products. This brand name has begun to get into the minds of Hong Kong people. 

In the late 60s, its medicine wine products received an overwhelming response from the market sales and many famous 60s movie and Cantonese opera stars and customers took initiative to visit our sales booths to show their admiration and support for Po Yan Woo’s products in the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo in 1960’s. 

Po Yan Woo has been rooted in Hong Kong for more than half a century, and has always adhered to the principle of "take from society, give back to society". We firmly believe that business is not only be profitable, and that it is equally important to adhere to social corporate responsibilities.

As early as the 1990s, Po Yan Woo has paid attention to social corporate responsibility. At that time, Guangdong Province, Yunnan Province, Hubei Province, Jiangxi Province, etc. suffered severe earthquakes and floods one after another. Relief supplies were urgently needed. The local people suffered serious losses in life and property and urgently needed assistance. We also tried our best to donate batches of medicinal oil products to the local victims. The Mainland Red Cross sent letters of thanks to us on behalf of the victims.  Knowing the so-called: "When one party is in trouble, all parties will support it", the spirit and virtue of helping others, we also would continue to protect the health of the victims of the disaster through the donation of medicinal oil products.

Afterwards, Ng Po Oil and Pei Ho (Ming Gor) Charity Foundation Limited join hands to donate medicated oil to the needs of the grassroots. This charity foundation is organized by Mr Chan Cheuk Ming, commonly known as “Ming Gor” and other volunteers in Sham Shui Po. They regularly give free meals, and other necessities to the poor in ten different regions across Hong Kong. Therefore, we donate our Ng Po Oil (medicated oil) to this charity foundation so Ming Gor and volunteers can distribute free Ng Po Oil to the underprivileged. We love and care about the underprivileged and do the best to give back to the society and benefit the community.

As early as the 1970s, Po Yan Woo had been dedicated to promoting Cantonese opera and folk art in order to let more people value these as traditional art and culture.

In 1983, Mr. Chiu Te Ken Deacon, the founder and Chairman of Far East Consortium, was proposed by Mr. Ma inviting many famous Cantonese opera actors and actresses to perform Cantonese operas in Mr. Chiu’s newly built Paladium Theatre located in Mei Foo. From 1980s to 1990s, not only fans had enjoyed many good Cantonese operas in the theatre, but also Cantonese opera and folk art could have the sustainable development and inheritance.

Because Mr. Ma was greatly appreciated to widely promote Cantonese opera, Mr. Ma was elected as the Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong for two terms. It was indeed an honor for Mr. Ma, who was not an actor but just a businessman.
